Louise Tickle is a freelance journalist based near Stroud. She specialises in education, social affairs, international development and travel, and is a regular contributor to The Guardian and the TES as well as writing for national magazines including Community Care, Teachers, Developments, Social Enterprise Magazine, Young Minds, BBC Countryfile, BBC Wildlife, Coast and Elle. She has designed and delivered media training courses for education and voluntary sector clients across the UK, often in partnership with Janet Murray.  Prior to spending a year in Kosovo working with local journalists to help create a more independent media, she worked for five years in press and campaigns for the RSPB, Comic Relief and Community Service Volunteers. www.louisetickle.co.uk.
